Prosser | PRIME AE,was selected by District 2 of the Florida Department of Transportation to design the roadway landscape on a 2.2 mile stretch of SR 212/Beach Boulevard, creating a gateway to the Jacksonville beaches.
The design was coordinated with an adjacent project to ensure a unified landscape design along the roadway. Due to the limited landscape areas along the corridor, a critical analysis was performed to maximize landscape opportunities.
Complete project development services included design development and final landscape and irrigation design plans, including several cost opinions. Prosser | PRIME AE also provided post-design services, performing site visits at critical project milestones. This project was in construction when both Hurricane Irma and Hurricane Matthew impacted the Jacksonville area. Prosser | PRIME AE utilized a unique large palm staking detail which withstood the high winds and rain without any failures, preventing palms from falling in the roadway.
